There are many interesting things to see around the United Arab Emirates. On the west coast there are less tropical species and you won't see classics like the moray eel or the lionfish, but you will see game fish such as Kingfish, Hamora (Grouper) and even Barracuda. The east coast is home to many interesting things and on Martini Rock you even have the opportunity of seeing the rare 'Black lionfish'. There are many other interesting Indian Ocean species on the east coast such as Frogfish and the dangerous Stonefish.
If you want to experience a true adventure and set enough time aside to explore the Musandam then I recommend you do so. It is not so easily accessible; which is probably why it is such a special place to dive. At the right time of year you can see large pelagics such as the 'Manta Ray'.

If you want even more remoteness, the U.A.E is not your cup of tea and you want to find out what the real arabic coastline should be like, then head for Oman. Either the brutal currents of the gulf or deep south. The choice is yours, but you'll need to do some research and get a visa. You will not be aloud in unless you have one.
